Hype Schmype
Space Jammin’ is the place to be. I now have my first pair of Jordans and a BFA in media arts.
Happy camping everyone; I’m going downstairs to work on my bike.

I’ve been in hibernation for quite some time and have neglected this blog thing but now that I’m graduating in a few weeks I’m going to revive it with updates from my portfolio show and some of the work from my internship.
Speaking of internships, although it is a good experience over at WMORTV 32; they’re working me to the bone. I’ve produced numerous commercials which hit the air, and a plethora of logo’s for some of their marketing proposals. The biggest side effect is that instead of avoiding television, I actually started watching it more just to catch my commercials. I’m just fortunate that my station airs decent shows.
The only tedious task they’ve given me was working on Christmas commercial spots, wishing everyone happy holidays from our station. Typically this time of year is the same every year for designer, getting bombarded to make holiday cards with the same color scheme and the same message. I guess it’s good for revenue for designers, although I’m working for free (very last time nonetheless).
I just finished up another quarter at school, with only one more left. The conclusion of this education session resulted in me designing my demo-reel and publishing it here on this website. If you look up top, I added a new button called “Reel”. You can find it there.

I threw up little descriptions on each piece, if you have trouble reading it there, you can view it digitally here.

Inside you will find a package of items, including my resume, a few business cards, and a magnet. I also hand drew on the back side of the print these little creatures to keep the DVD company. I’m still working on finding the dvd tray for my printer so I can print directly on the DVD and not have to use those difficult stickers.

The ever so old business card. I’m still on the fence about re-designing them.

Here is the magnet. It is of one of my wallpapers called “Library.” I figure it is like art but for the ‘fridge.

I’m still hung up over finding cheap royalty free girls for my Dinowhores shirts. Apparently stock images with the ideal content run for roughly 400-500$ a picture. If anybody knows any remarkable photographers that have attractive friends and wouldn’t mind exchanging creative services, send em my way! So in the meanwhile I’ve been doing a few t-shirt designs for some friends bands.
The first one I did for a death metal band from my hometown. Check out King Conquer.

These shirts should be available in a few weeks at the cost of 12-15$. Feel free to contact me or the band if you’re interested in purchasing one.
I’ve also ventured back into my sketchbook to work on my inking once again.

I’ve been debating if I should go into tattooing, but I think I would much rather prefer a print media (Making coloring books, kids book, etc.) for my time being, but you never know.
Here is a sneak peek at a series of shirts I’m creating with help from an old friend and a swag critic, bonedozer.
They should be released sometime next month. I’m still researching the legalities of using celebrities and trademarked talent in my designs, but once that is finished I’ll start coloring.
I would love to go hunting for every blue bird in sight, but recently I’ve been persuaded to go against my blue bird prejudice and invest my time into the facebook status stealing, simple yet uninformative social networking gimmick known as twitter.
Alright you caught me, I do find it some-what convenient and to the point. I would much rather simple 140 character blurbs to digest, without the bombardment to join someone’s mafia, or to deface a celebrity to win a free ipod nano from 2002. The moment twitter puts apps and annoying advertisements in is the moment I am selling my stock.
If you have an interesting life add me!
As you all know I’ve been on vacation, bouncing all around florida visiting friends I havn’t seen in quite some time. Next quarter is right around the corner and tomorrow I’m looking at an interview to do caricatures at Busch Gardens. If I land that I expect you all to stop by my booth and let me draw you.
I’ve decided to also reveal my family.

Final’s week has been bogging me down and I still have a few left to execute so I’m going to keep this one short. Shirts!

I’ve been plowing through my classes this semester leaving me ample time to do my own projects, but I have layed a few out for my break. The first will be a painting (Traditionally, busting out the old acrylics) of a walrus scene for my roommate. His favorite animal is a walrus, and I feel he deserves one alongside his walrus arctic tattoo.

This should be finished sometime during the break.
Another sketch I’ve been working on was for a t-shirt design involving eating acorns as a snack. My roommate kept throwing assorted Starbucks trail mix at me while working and I tried to execute that idea.

Finally, I’ve been trying more attempts at the visual storytelling ordeal. The first was just a trial run trying to suck the viewer into the scene, wasnt really working out for me.

Lifting up the viewer put more interest in the shot. I repeated some objects to bounce the viewers eye around and put in a few figures for scale.

Still drilling away at the sketchbook. I may be venturing out to SF over my break so hopefully that will be a jolt to my creativity.
Sneakerpimps Invaded Miami with the presence of the Cool Kids and Clipse.

The walls were adorned with many rare and custom shoes, accompanied with live painting. The customs were remarkably weak for how hyped up the event was, but there were some sick classics keeping me satisfied.

They had a painting of my favorite shoe, the For Love or Money dunks. I will probably never see an authentic pair of them so the painting will have to do.

Cool Kids.

Overall I had a fun time at the event. Although be forewarned, if you’re looking to attend this event for just the sneaker exhibit you will be highly disappointed. The event was more like a concert garnished with sneakers. So sneakerheads stay away, but Cool Kids/ Clipse fans should definitely attend.
